sbst275 SG I think I googled for NEwater the other day It seems the Aussie govt is trying to force their way for the water reclamation project at QSL
Rhonda SG I actually find it pleasant to nurse the elderly here, who tend to have such strong independant spirits and who are generally very uppity and positive about life in general. Even at that age, they are still learning and keen to experience life! I love to find time to sit down and talk to them a bit cause they usually have lived such interesting lives too! Can learn so much from them! I often encourage them, when they are feeling a bit down, that I've learnt tons from them and they have enriched my life with their presence and they sometimes giggle so happily at that!
Rhonda SG Yeah! That's how one of my colleagues deal with patients and their families who keep pressing the buzzer for wee little things and who won't do a thing for themselves. She says, "I'll help them all they want, cause in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, 'Ha! Wait till you go home and have nobody to be at your beck and call, then you'll really suffer, you lazybones!'"
Rhonda SG Good. Cause the rich have their own set of problems. Besides, wealth might not be everlasting either.
viciouskitty74 SG You confirm need wan lah. Though domestic maid are cheaper and long term. The confinement nanny are expensive though. Only good for a few months after you given birth. My g/f had bad experiences with mothers or mother in law offering to help with confinements...so unless you know your mother or mother in law had really helped with confinement very recently. its always better to employ one.
elindra SG Very true...all I need to do is look at my boss Coz of people fighting over the inheritance he has fallen into depression Anyway Mr Pinky Bear is working tonight So even though he is back, I won't see him
Rhonda SG I love the 'rough and tumble' people here much much more than the 'prim and proper' ones. I love how genuine the 'rough and tumble' folks are! They don't pretend, they are as they are, and I really love being acquainted with them. THey are truly salt of the earth! I'm so lucky to have met quite a few of them in the course of my work here. And that has made me realise, that if marrying rich means I have to put on those 'airs' and be obsessed with my physical appearance and always present myself neatly dressed and not a hair out of place, then sorry, I'd rather marry a truck driver and be part of the 'rough and tumble' gang! Like what one of my colleagues from the UK said, "The bloody Aussies can be more status-conscious than us bloody Brits, damnit!" (She peppers her conversations with 'bloody' and 'hell' etc a lot! )
sbst275 SG But I wonder can be it done this week Cos there's some road works at Bras Basah Rd Never mind, later I'll take a bus ride down and take a look
elindra SG Err definately not my mum coz her job entails that she travels Plus she is more like married to her job then my dad mother-in-law got communication problem leh a bit hard
Rhonda SG OK, I've decided to have lunch today before work! Bye, folks! Great to chat with all of you! Hang in there, tare... things will get better slowly but surely! Fatum, you too! Take care! Pinky, see ya soon!!
the Bear SG *&$^# in a while, i'm going for lunch.. then coming back, look up the route to Toa Payoh HDB Hub, go there on official business, deliver some stuff urgently, come back.. at least i'll be paid for the mileage.. boss told me to clean up my desk again.. it looks tidy to me..
viciouskitty74 SG Same here. i was just chatting with my sister about the folks I met on the walks with the kids. Cos we lived in a upper middle class neighbourhood. The people here are kind rude. Except for a few neighbours. Even the other nannies, when they see me, dont know I am mother of the kids or the nanny, so they are polite but otherwise leave me alone. And its often then not, the older ladies on their power walks or old men with doggies that are kind and friendly. Even the mexican grass cutter was so surprised that I made the little gal wave them goodbye when we passed. You can see the smiles breaking from the very sun brozed craggy faces when littl gal says in her ultra small 'Teh' voice saying 'byyyyeeee'. These people here are very polite when they see me. Switching off their grass cutters, the leaf blowing machines when I walked by....and they will stand quietly at side machiam like I am royalty passing by. The rude wans are those middle age power tai tais; teenagers & men though. Kids are just shy here.
